Student Architecture Contest Launched by Claycomb

Reaching and Recognizing Future Architects

(Austin) – Future architects may pick up their first drafting tools in high school and imagine changing the horizon with a series of homes, skyscrapers, or possibly school facilities.

Providing this type of experiential-based learning coupled with inspired design is the driving force behind the Claycomb Student Architecture Competition.

Claycomb Associates, Architects and TASB Partners have combined efforts to launch the student competition, which will culminate in May 2013. Texas public high school students are invited to submit finished architectural designs for judging by professional architects and instructors.

In the first year, the contest is open to students in 10 Central Texas school districts: Austin, Del Valle, Dripping Springs, Eanes, Hays CISD, Hutto, Lake Travis, Leander, Pflugerville, and Round Rock. Contest guidelines are available on line and the deadline for submission is April 12, 2013.
