Bland Elementary/Middle School

Architects worked with District stakeholders to ensure that this school would meet the unique needs of the community. Because the design consolidates an older elementary and middle school, delivery of student services and meeting the instructional needs of all students was the primary challenge.
The design allows both campuses to share administrative space, media center, computer labs, competition gym, and cafeteria. The core spaces can be secured after hours for special programs.
Each campus maintains a unique identity through separate classroom and reception spaces.
Student wings are configured into “neighborhoods,” reflecting connectedness and strong community values. Main corridors provide clear lines of sight and ample daylighting.
